These charts show the passage of a depression. The track was roughly North to South up the Irish Sea. The classic change in direction of the wind is clearly visible and the associated occluded front is also well defined.
This is another of the series of depressions that brought a very wet Autumn to 2000. This one caused more flooding in South Wales and the South West, over 2" of rain fell in around 8 hours in some places. We had around 1.5" in 24 hours.
