| Banks of cloud. These were static formations, the banks staying more or less in the same position relative to the ground but the clouds themselves moving fairly rapidly. The distant bank, with the gently rolling surface in the right hand picture, was roughly over the top of Cross Fell 6 miles away. Between the banks you could see right up to blue sky, contrails and some light cirrus. | ||
