A warm front, not often seen so dramatically, with a 5°C rise in temperature in an hour. This is not as fast as some of the cold fronts that pass through but this is a warm front after all.
It followed a period of cold from a continental/polar air mass that had dominated the weather for the previous two weeks. This had produced some nights down to -7°C and daytime temperatures barely reaching 0°C.
